A broad rounded body, short neck and two sculpted side handles give this decorative urn a strong, vessel-like silhouette. Finished in deep black with a softly distressed surface, it has the appearance of an aged earthen pot while remaining lightweight due to its papier-mâché construction.

The simple, substantial form allows the texture to take centre stage. Slight variations across the surface, rim and handles reflect the hand-forming process and give the urn an individual, time-worn character rather than a perfectly uniform finish.
