Raised on a broad footed base, this papier-mâché bowl has a generous open form that gives it the presence of a decorative centrepiece. Hand-painted leafy branches travel across both the bowl and pedestal, creating a continuous botanical composition rather than treating the base as a separate element.

The softly flared sides and wide opening make it well suited to displaying dried flowers, decorative spheres, wrapped treats, potpourri or a collection of lightweight objects. It can also be left unfilled, allowing the sculptural silhouette and painted surface to become the focus of a console, sideboard or coffee-table arrangement.

Built by hand from layers of paper-based material, the piece retains a tactile surface with visible texture beneath the paint. The rim, curves and brushwork may show slight irregularities, reflecting the hand-shaped and individually decorated nature of the object.
